Alastair had followed after the group, and it seemed they had covered ground pretty well - arriving at the University, stopping at the hand signal given. His eyes fixed on the scene that revealed itself to them, a collision with plenty of dead bodies.

The sentence was cut off by rapid movement as the doors opened up, revealing something he didn't want to be looking at right now - at least not down the barrel. Alastair ducked behind an abandoned car, feeling none too safe as bullets rained down on their position. He tucked himself behind the car wheels, so his feet weren't exposed to the bullets, should one have the brains to shoot underneath the car.

He fired a couple of shots from either end of the car, watching as he dropped one and the other ducked behind cover. Alastair pulled the trigger as soon as the other had come back around from cover before ducking back against the car as another barrage of bullets hit the car, glass shattering over him.

Al fired back, his mag spent. He pressed the release, the magazine falling neatly in front of him as he placed in another magazine. The car was taking a pounding and he needed to move. "Moving!" He dashed, only a couple of meters to the next car to see whether this was a better vantage point. He was forced to remain behind the car, though at some point, he hoped the MG was about to need a fresh mag.

Brian was already glad that the quiet guy with the skull facewrap was on point with the 320, as the effect had been fairly quick. Smoke was billowing from the two trucks, and the MG finally fell silent. Now it was just the footmobiles in the street, but they had the disadvantage of dealing with the smoke grenade that the SAS operator had tossed.

The CRO came up from his cover and laid down more fire before ducking back down again. The enemy was trying to spread out all across the street and try to advance in such a way as to close the left flank around Kraken.

"Left side, left side! Don't let these shitbirds close the door!" Brian called out before snapping back up to re-engage the enemy. His sights shifted from the right hand edge of the street inwards, and then he caught eyes on an enemy arching back to throw a grenade. Brian immediately leveled the magnified red dot through his Micro-T1 onto the hostile and squeezed off several shots. The enemy soldier pitched backwards without throwing his grenade, and forced his compatriots to scatter before it went off, though one was unlucky enough to catch some of the fragments.

Again, he dropped back behind his cover, scowling as bullets either chewed into the concrete above him or peppered into the glass and plaster of the KFC next to his cover.

...Oh, the wonderful things a person can do with the proper application of a little high explosive...

Andrew barely had enough time to take cover, let alone turn around and address the ambush they'd just walked head into. When the soft 'whump' of his squadmates grenade launcher sent a 40mm package of high explosives into the truck. HEDP, or high explosive dual purpose, the go-to for blowing sh*t to pieces and saying frak that guy and everyone within 15 feet. The thunder followed the lighting, and the grenade shredded the two trucks and the enemy combatants.

Flipping the safety on his Mk. 17 to the fully automatic position, popping out from behind the engine block of his cover. Planting the stock into his shoulder he quickly placed the reticle on his SU-230/PVS towards what was left of the ambushers and pulled the trigger on his Mk. 17 rattling half his 20-round magazine doing his best to provide suppressing fire.

The now devastated trucks and what had been the attackers only point of fire superiority - gone. Now they were reduced to fire and maneuver, which Andrew's team had the leg up on, specifically that they were working with the smoke from the trucks and a tossed screening smoke grenade.

"Left side, left side! Don't let these shitbirds close the door!"

From his position, Andrew didn't have to shift far to re-engage the enemy attempted to reposition, flipping the selector on his weapon to semi-auto he was now providing precision fires. Andrew used the enemy's dropped grenade to drop two of the attackers as they attempted to flee, hitting each with multiple rounds of 7.62x51mm NATO. The bolt locked back on his rifle and he dropped into cover, "Reloading!"

Ghost looked over from his covered position, the BDA was pretty straight forward. He took note of the enemies movement, the smoke was a welcome addition. He came up on a knee, bringing his weapon to play as he unloaded, going rapid and dumping the mag.

"Moving!" He quickly dropped the spent cartridge in his dump pouch and loaded a fresh mag in before he started moving up the right side of the street. He pushed up past the CRO and continued. His movement was strong and fluid as he turned at the waist, firing in step as he flanked the smoked out enemy.

Once Ghost was in position he took a knee behind another car, glancing over towards the smoldering MG position as he reloaded and scanned further ahead towards the man-made barricade and further out to search for additional while his teammates wrapped up the current engagement.

Leah heard thr call for left side, she glanced up seeing one of the assailants burst through the smoke. His weapon up as he hunched over. She rolled over to her left, coming up on a knee and started firing with her Mk 18. Her rounds struck his legs, causing the man to crumple forward. Once he hit the ground she fire two more rounds towards his head as she pushed the left side.

Leah aimed her weapon at yet another shooter trying to charge. She pulled the trigger only to hear an awkward crunch as the bolt slammed forward on a missfed round. She quickly slapped the bottom of the mag and racked the bolt back before attempting to fire again. The assailant was closing quickly despite the amount of gunfire being put diwn towards the rest of the attackers.

She dropped the mag, locking the bolt back to the rear to clear the double feed gritted teeth parted to release an aggrivated growl as she released the weapon amd let the sling catch. She sidestepped amd drove her arms to the right, forcing the bayonet and rifle to pass her. She swept his legs, ripping her 870 MCS free of the leg holster and pulled the trigger, blasting the mans back open. In the process she fell to her back and sighed. "...damn."
